STORIA DELLA SEDE

Un baglio è un'antica costruzione agricola tipica della Sicilia tra il XV e XVIII secolo, simbolo del feudalesimo e dell'aristocrazia della sua epoca. Con il passare del tempo molte di queste strutture si sono convertite in luoghi abbandonati o trasformati in agriturismi, sale di ricevimento e ristoranti.

Nel caso specifico de Il Baglio, parliamo di una costruzione ubicata nella zona rurale di Fontanasalsa, molto vicina alla città di Trapani, dedicata alla produzione di olio, vino e altre risorse legate alla terra. Nel tempo ha avuto diversi proprietari fino al 1959, quando fu acquistato dalla famiglia Candela. Negli anni molte delle zone de Il Baglio sono rimaste abbandonate, finchè nel 2017 l'ultima generazione della famiglia ha deciso di trasformarlo poco a poco in uno spazio dedicato all'incontro tra le arti e la cultura. Pur mantenendo un ambiente familiare si è trasformato per accogliere differenti artisti di tutti i rami: artigianato, pittura, teatro, musica, cucina, scultura, muralismo, fotografia, danza ecc..
